This winter we will open Fri/Sat/Sun from 1-4 and often earlier and later. Holiday weeks/weekends,
we open for the whole time. We are always willing to open for a special request; you can call to make an appointment at 753.2128. We are always looking for help from the membership/village to help serve as a docent or just to open mu- seum, on any day or hour you choose. It would be nice to have a few folks to help serve an hour or a few. We can ar- range to open the door, if you can serve. Since the move, we have suspended the phone line. Stay tuned on that. In the meantime, email us at: info@ebbettspasshistory.org or 753.2128.
We have many items available for a donated price: books, reprint of the vintage Trail Map, postcards, and now, Monte Wolfe t-shirts!

The summer program at EPHA’s annual summer program during the Music Festival, historian Don De Young updated us on all the information he’s uncovering on Monte Wolfe. Once Don found out Monte’s true identity (as revealed in our 2009 program), he has been able to put together a chronology of Monte’s life. Don left us with great Monte t-shirts available at our museum. And he says his book on Monte is about 90% done.
The program presented on the first Sunday of the Music Festival this summer was our best attended to date. Thank you Don for sharing what you have learned!
You can read more at Don’s website: www.montewolfe.org

Since no-one guessed the last item, we will revisit that later. . . . . So, we are going tochange things up by having a Trivia Question. The question is: to list, in order, all the names of the restaurant/bar that occupied the space in the old arcade, kinda where Headwaters is now. . . . .We will give you one name: the Tollstation.
Submission needs to be at the EPHA Museum by Saturday, December 4th, 2010; mail or drop-off. Winner will be announced at Wintersports History Night.

Still At Issue:
Eric Jung reports that the Forest Service hosted a meeting in October to discuss the
legal situation with Monte Wolf’s cabin. Despite overwhelming public support for preservation of the cabin, the USFS is
being cautious due to threats of lawsuits by wilderness “fundamentalists” who want the cabin to go away. The USFS has ruled that the matter must go through the full NEPA (National Environmental Protection Act) process, which could take two years. The anti-preservation people have promised to fight, so it’s still appropriate for people to write to Congress- man Lungren’s office in support of preservation. Email to Robert.Ehlert@mail.house.gov. The cabin is ok for now¼.
